💡 Aptos Teams Up with World Liberty Financial

Layer-1 blockchain Aptos has officially partnered with the Trump family’s World Liberty Financial (WLFI) to roll out the USD1 stablecoin, setting its sights on shaking up the competitive stablecoin market.

Aptos CEO Avery Ching revealed at the TOKEN 2049 conference in Singapore that this collaboration has been in the works for months. He emphasized WLFI’s vision of creating financial products that bring yield “back to the people,” starting with the USD1 launch.

📅 USD1 Launch Details

The USD1 stablecoin will go live on October 6 with immediate ecosystem support. Key integrations include:

  • Liquidity pools & incentives across Aptos DeFi protocols like Echelon, Hyperion, Thala, and Tapp.

  • Wallet & exchange support from Petra, Backpack, OKX, Bitget Wallet, Gate Wallet, and more.

Ching noted Aptos was chosen due to its ultra-low transaction fees (under $0.0001) and lightning-fast speed (sub-half-second finality). ⚡

🔥 Targeting Tron’s Dominance

With stablecoins now the backbone of DeFi, Aptos is looking to carve out market share from industry giants Ethereum and Tron.

  • USDT on Aptos already holds $1.3B in supply.

  • In comparison, Tron dominates with $78.6B and Ethereum leads with $94.8B.

  • USD1 itself has a $2.68B market cap, mostly on BNB Chain, per DefiLlama.

Despite Aptos holding just 0.35% market share, Ching sees strong growth potential, especially with stablecoin adoption accelerating.

📊 Aptos Expands Its Ecosystem

Beyond USD1, Aptos is building infrastructure for next-gen DeFi and Web3:

  • Decibel DEX 🎶 → A high-performance decentralized exchange for stablecoins, spot, and perpetuals. Testnet launches in October, with mainnet by year’s end.

  • Shelby Storage 📂 → A decentralized storage system co-developed with Jump Crypto, designed for real-time social media apps & AI training data, set to debut in 2026.

🎯 Why This Matters

The Aptos-WLFI partnership highlights a growing political and financial push into stablecoins, signaling a new era of mainstream adoption. With big backers like a16z, Circle Ventures, and Franklin Templeton, Aptos is positioning itself as a serious contender in the stablecoin wars.
