🚀 Why October Is Crucial for Crypto ETFs

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is about to make final rulings on 16 different crypto ETFs throughout October. These ETFs cover major altcoins like Solana (SOL), XRP, Litecoin (LTC), and Dogecoin (DOGE).

The first decision is expected on Canary’s Litecoin ETF (deadline: Oct. 2), followed by Grayscale’s Solana and Litecoin trust conversion (Oct. 10). The month will end with WisdomTree’s XRP ETF decision on Oct. 24, according to Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart.

⚡ The SEC can issue approvals before these final deadlines, meaning announcements could drop at any time.

📈 Analysts Predict Market Impact

Crypto experts believe ETF approvals could spark the next altcoin season. Analysts from Bitfinex suggested ETFs may bring safer exposure for investors, potentially fueling fresh rallies.

Meanwhile, Nate Geraci, president of NovaDius Wealth Management, called it an “enormous next few weeks for spot crypto ETFs.”

He highlighted a packed lineup: “Starts with Canary’s Litecoin ETF this week, followed by decisions on Solana, Dogecoin, XRP, ADA, and HBAR ETFs.”

🔍 Missing Big Players: Fidelity & BlackRock

Crypto trader Daan Crypto Trades noted that while October is busy, two giants — Fidelity and BlackRock — are not part of this batch. Still, many traders view October as “ETF month”, keeping markets on edge.

In June, Seyffart even placed 90%+ odds on the SEC approving multiple ETFs by 2025, boosting optimism.

✅ SEC Policy Changes Make Approvals Easier

The SEC recently adopted a new listing standard for commodity-based trust shares, which could shorten approval timelines for spot crypto ETFs.

ETF analyst Eric Balchunas suggested that more altcoins could be next, pointing to 22 coins with futures on Coinbase as “eligible for spot ETF-ization.”

Already, Hashdex has expanded its ETF to include XRP, Solana, and Stellar (XLM) after the rule change.

🎯 What This Means for Investors

If approvals go through, October could be remembered as a historic month for crypto ETFs. Increased institutional access could drive higher liquidity and legitimize altcoins like SOL, XRP, and DOGE in mainstream markets.

Still, investors should remain cautious — while ETFs can boost adoption, crypto remains volatile.
